The dunes of Westhampton Beach are beautiful as well as an extremely important means of protection from the environment; for the homes on Dune Road as well as the mainland across Moriches Bay. Take a walk on the beach in any season and you will come across many tiny birds called Piping Plovers and see their fenced off nesting grounds amongs the sand and grassy reeds, keeping them safe. This lace reflects the sandy dunes and the little birds that hop around, dodging in and out of the waves that wash along the shoreline. Wear the cowl loosely on a blustery autumn day, or pull it tight to keep out a winter chill.
