Shearing a barrel cut on a juvenile llama getting ready for show for Paige McGrath of Lower Sherwood Farm at last year's March Madness llama show. I travel with my chute for llama shearing and offer various cuts based on your interest and needs. Special attention for show purposes or fiber use. But whether you show or not, all llamas look like they are ready for the show ring when I am done!
This is AJ and he resides in NJ and is one of my favorite alpacas to shear! Many folks that have a few alpacas as pets, would prefer to see them shorn standing up. While some are better at it than others, I am happy to take my time and provide them with as positive an experience as possible, skirting the fleece as I go along with firsts and seconds collected in a bin and thirds go to the floor.
As a shepherd and fiber enthusiast myself, I am happy to shear smaller flocks of sheep with careful attention to the wool, the animal and the end result of how your sheep looks.
Pictured here is "Nemo", one of my own angoras being shorn for public demo. I might not be available for fall shearing based on your location, so call to inquire. |
