Product Description

1 skein fingering weight yarn
US size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook
Montauk is a beautiful beach resort at the tip of the south fork of Long Island whose name is derived from the Montaukett Indian tribe that lived in the area.  With the surrounding presence of the Atlantic Ocean, winters are warmer and spring/summer cooler, thereby making it an enjoyable destination year round.  The Montauk Lacy Scarf is also something you can enjoy round with the open laciness of the motif.  Perfect for summer evenings or over layers in the cooler months.  Make this scarf using a colorful yarn and you can transform the image of snowflakes into a beautiful floral garden.  The open airy look of this wrap is achieved by two things - using a larger size hook than you might normally use with this yarn weight, and choosing a yarn that has no stretch.  If you choose a yarn made of 100% wool you might not achieve the full effect of the lacy pattern.
