Can you believe it? We are STILL ON BABY WATCH! Mamie has yet to deliver her cria! I was keeping tabs on her at the farm last Friday while everyone was at the Hampton Classic, and am a little disappointed that she didn't have her baby then - I would have gotten to name it!
There was no blog post last week because I was at the Hampton Classic Horse Show - and it was fabulous - beautiful animals and beautiful people EVERYWHERE! The only celebrity I saw was Brooke Shields, and she is still stunning. I did hear Michael Bloomberg, Tom Wolfe, Matt Lauer, and Rosanna Scotto were there on Grand Prix Sunday. Mary-Kate Olsen competed on Thursday, cheered on by her husband, Olivier Sarkozy. The Grand Prix was won for the third time by Richie Moloney, riding Carrabis Z.
Long Island Livestock Company's booth was gorgeous, and our new line of hand woven shrugs with handmade sweater guards flew off the hangers! Each one is slightly different, made in a really delicious alpaca/bamboo blend.
We provide the animals for the Children's Tent, and this year a couple of them made their debuts! Olive, the five month old Angora bunny, was the star of the week. She is so soft and adorable that people didn't think she was real! Any time she visited the booth, she was mobbed instantly by adoring fans. Here she is getting kisses and cuddles from Karen.
And 8 week old Jackson visited with his mama, Luck Etta. Just look at those lashes!
Count decided that, since he was in the Hamptons after all, he should casually sport some shades on top of his head.
My favorite moment was when a little boy told me, with great authority, that these guys were "made of sweaters"
The blog will be on hiatus now until September 30 - I am going on vacation to England! The land of wool! While I am there I will go to a wool show, Yarndale, on September 24. I will be sure to tell you all about it when I get back.
